New Levels with effect from: 1st May 2023

From Monday 1st May there will be 20 Levels within SWUK:

Tier 1 – Levels 1-4
Tier 2 – Levels 5-10
Tier 3 – Levels 11-16
Tier 4 – Levels 17-20

What do these changes mean for:

1. Teams/Competitors

Teams that have qualified at L6 but not yet qualified at L7 can either:

  • Continue in L6 to gain Excellence or
  • Enter the NEW L7

Teams that have previously entered & either not qualified or qualified at current L7 can either:

  • Continue in the NEW L7 with existing Ex. points if applicable, or
  • Enter the NEW L8, or NEW 9. Existing Ex. points will return to 0

NB – Once a decision has been made as to which level a team may wish to start from, this action will unfortunately be irreversible.

Teams that have previously entered & either not qualified or qualified at current L8 can either:

  • Continue in the NEW L8 with existing Ex. points if applicable, or
  • Enter the NEW L9, or NEW L10. Existing Ex. points will return to 0

2. Judges

Current Part 1 Judges will become Tier 1 Judges and *can judge:
Tier 1 – L1-4

Current Part 2 Judges will become Tier 2 Judges and *can judge:
Tier 1 – L1-4
Tier 2 – L5-10 (Current Part 2 Judges are encouraged to watch the Judges/TM Tier 2 – L10 Video)

A NEW Judges Tier 3 Workshop will be available and successful participants will become Tier 3 Judges and *can judge:
Tier 1 – L1-4
Tier 2 – L5-10
Tier 3 – L11-16

A NEW Judges Tier 4 Workshop will be available in the future and successful participants will become Tier 4 Judges and *can judge:
Tier 1 – L1-4
Tier 2 – L5-10
Tier 3 – L11-16
Tier 4 – L17-20

NB:
* Judges must complete Workshops in order from Tier 1 – Tier 4.

* Judges must Judge a minimum of 1 trial in each Tier before progressing to judge a higher Tier.

* In Tier 1 and Tier 2 it is a requirement that the Judge has qualified as a competitor for the level to be judged.
(Eg. Qualified at Tier 1 Level 2, can judge Levels 1 & 2. Qualified at Tier 2 Level 9 can, judge Levels 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 & 9)

* In Tier 3 it is a requirement that the Judge has passed a Tier 3 Judges Workshop & qualified as a competitor at Tier 3 Level 11 in order to judge any Tier 3 trial

* In Tier 4 it is a requirement that the Judge has passed a Tier 4 Judges Workshop & qualified as a competitor at Tier 3 Level 11 in order to judge any Tier 4 trial

3. Trial Managers (TM's)

Current TM’s that are presently managing trials at current Level 1 – Level 8 *can:

  • Manage trials at all Tier 1 & Tier 2 Trials (NEW Level 1 – NEW Level 10) but are encouraged to watch the Judges/TM Tier 2 – L10 Video
  • TM’s that wish to manage Trials at Tier 3 & Tier 4 will need to attend TM Tier 3 & Tier 4 Workshops

NB:
* TM’s must complete Workshops in order from Tier 1 – Tier 4.

* TM’s must manage a minimum of 1 trial in each Tier before progressing to manage a higher Tier. This applies moving from:

T1 – T2
T2 – T3
T3 – T4

New Judge and TM Workshop Price List

(for clarification: prices are for Judges/TM’s  beginning their SWUK journey. Existing/current Judges/TM’s pay nothing until/ unless they wish to progress!)

Judges who have judged less than 1 trial since 1st Jan 2021 will need to refresh. TM’s who have managed less than 1 trial since 1st Jan 2021 will need to refresh. Refreshers are currently set at £25
