An easy way to start training against distractions with a game your dog should fully understand by now. Be true to yourself when deciding whether to disengage & reset or not. If you cheat to make it easier for your dog you will certainly be making harder for them in the long term.

Instead, make it easier in the way that you present the food, how much food you use & of course what the actual food is. If you first try this with their favourite stinky treat you are more likely to fail. Start with a boring bit of kibble & build up to more tasty morsels…

The value of this Step is obvious, but when it comes to distraction scents, there really cant be anything more enticing to most dogs… than food!
